Definition

An Incoterms 2020 rule for any mode of transport where the seller pays for carriage to the named destination but risk transfers to the buyer when the goods are handed to the first carrier. The seller's payment of freight does not extend the seller's risk, which ends earlier at the point of handover. CPT is the multimodal equivalent of CFR.
