Billing & Refunds

How billing works for Trade Caravan Pro / Pro+ and Realview SCM — ZAR pricing and VAT, monthly or annual recurring billing, auto-renewal, cancellation, refunds and your cooling-off rights.

1. Pricing & VAT

This page covers paid subscriptions to Trade Caravan and to Realview SCM. All plans are priced in South African Rand (ZAR) and prices shown are inclusive of VAT where applicable:

  • Trade Caravan — the Pro and Pro+ plans (and one-off purchases such as premium document templates).
  • Realview SCM — the Free, Starter, Growth and Pro plans, plus optional additional team-member seats.

Paid plans can be billed monthly or annually. Choosing annual billing charges you once a year at ten times the monthly price — two months free (for example, a plan that is R199/month is R1,990/year). Directory listings (Verified / Featured) and each paid Realview tier offer the same monthly-or-annual choice on the same terms. Optional Realview team-member seats are billed at the same interval as the workspace subscription. See the pricing page for the latest amounts and exactly what each plan includes.

2. How payments are processed

Payments are processed securely by a South African payment platform using recurring billing for subscriptions. To pay, you are taken to the payment platform's secure checkout and returned to your account afterwards. We never see or store your full card or bank details. You can view, update or cancel your payment arrangement from your account.

3. Auto-renewal

Paid plans renew automatically at the start of each billing cycle — every month for monthly plans, or every year for annual plans — until you cancel, and at the then-current price for that plan and interval. By subscribing you authorise these recurring charges. We disclose the auto-renewing nature of the plan, its price and its renewal interval up front in line with the Consumer Protection Act.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel any time from your account (self-service) or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid period — the end of the month for a monthly plan, or the end of the paid year for an annual plan — and you keep full access until then. We do not generally provide pro-rata refunds for the unused part of a cycle after it has started (see refunds below), so cancelling an annual plan does not refund the remaining months.

5. Refund policy

Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already charged for a billing cycle (whether monthly or annual) are non-refundable, and cancelling mid-cycle does not create a pro-rata refund. We may, at our discretion, issue a refund or credit (for example for a billing error or a sustained outage covered by the SLA). Where we do issue a refund, the related subscription or directory listing moves to the free tier immediately — this differs from cancelling, which keeps your paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

6. Cooling-off (ECTA section 44)

If you subscribe as a natural person and end user (not a business/juristic entity), you may have a 7-day cooling-off right under section 44 of ECTA, with any refund due paid within 30 days. This applies to monthly and annual subscriptions alike. Note the section 42(2) exclusions — in particular, this right may fall away where the service has begun with your consent before the 7 days elapse. This cooling-off right generally does not apply to business/juristic Subscribers.

7. Price changes

We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase takes effect. For an annual plan, a price change applies from your next annual renewal. If you don't accept the new price, you can cancel before it applies.

8. Failed payments

If a recurring charge does not go through — whether a monthly or an annual renewal — we open a short grace period and email you reminders so you can sort out your payment method. If it is still unpaid when the grace period ends, your account is downgraded to the free plan. You can resubscribe at any time.

9. Upgrades, downgrades & changing your billing interval

You can change plans at any time. An upgrade starts a new subscription at the new plan's price for a fresh billing cycle; a downgrade (or a move to the free plan) takes effect when your current paid period ends, and you keep your current plan's features until then. Switching between monthly and annual billing works the same way — because you have already paid for the current period, the new billing interval starts once that period ends (cancel the current plan and start the plan on the interval you want), so you are never charged for two overlapping subscriptions. Plan limits (such as monthly export/document limits on Trade Caravan, or the number of tracked shipments and team seats on Realview) apply from the moment the change takes effect.
