1. What you're buying

We prepare an advisory report on how HS 2028 may affect the tariff codes you send us. The report covers:

  • Quick Check — up to 100 lines, delivered as PDF and XLSX within 3 working days (or the turnaround shown on your quote) of payment and receipt of a readable file.
  • Catalogue Report — up to 2,000 lines, delivered as PDF and XLSX within 5 working days (or the turnaround shown on your quote) of payment and receipt of a readable file.
  • Large order — over 2,000 lines (the lines in your quote), delivered as PDF only, within the turnaround shown on your quote of payment and receipt of a readable file.

Reports are at 6-digit level and do not include HS 2028 duty rates, WCO text, or a classification ruling.

2. Advisory only

Advisory only. This report shows how HS 2028 may affect the tariff codes you supplied. It is based on the WCO's published HS 2022–HS 2028 correlation at 6-digit level, which has no legal status, and on South African tariff lines in force on the date shown on your report. SARS has not published South Africa's 8-digit HS 2028 tariff, so every South African line is marked "Pending SARS". Where a code splits or is an "ex" line, we list all candidate codes and do not choose one for you. This report is not a tariff determination or legal advice: only a SARS tariff determination under section 47(9)(a) of the Customs and Excise Act binds. Confirm every code with your customs broker or SARS before you rely on it. To the extent the law allows, our liability for this report is limited to the fee you paid for it.

3. Your file

Send only SKU or product reference, product description and HS code. Please don't include names, email addresses, phone numbers or other personal information. We remove any that are included. We use your file only to prepare your report. We keep it, and our working copies, in restricted storage, and we delete them 90 days after delivery. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

If you upload a file but don't pay, we delete it when your quote expires (7 days, or 14 days for a large-order quote).

4. Copyright and use

Trade Caravan keeps copyright in the report. You may use it, copy it and share it inside your business, and with your own customs broker, auditors or advisers for your own compliance work. You may not sell, resell, sublicense, publish or otherwise redistribute the report or its contents, or use it to build a competing dataset or service. Code correspondences are derived from World Customs Organization material. No rights in WCO material pass to you.

5. Payment

Payment is by card online only, in full before work starts.

  • Quick Check and Catalogue Report: your quote is shown at checkout and is valid for 7 days.
  • Large orders (over 2,000 lines): we send you a written quote for your file. It is fixed for 14 days, and you pay it in full through the same checkout.

Your quote shows the turnaround. If more than 25% of your lines need specialist review, the quote adds 2 working days, and that adjusted turnaround is the one that applies.

6. Refunds and corrections

  • Orders we decline: we may decline an order before work starts, for example where a file appears intended to extract our HS 2028 data rather than check your own products. If we do, we refund everything you paid in full.
  • Before we start: cancel before our analyst starts work and we refund everything you paid in full. We'll tell you by email when work starts.
  • After we start: no refund, except as below or where the law requires one.
  • Our error: if the report contains an error that is ours (for example a wrong candidate code, a missed line or a parsing mistake), tell us within 30 days of delivery and we'll correct and reissue it free of charge. If we can't correct it, we'll refund the fee.
  • Late delivery: if we don't deliver within 10 working days after the turnaround shown on your quote, you may cancel and receive a full refund.
  • Cooling-off: if you buy online as an individual consumer, you may have a 7-day cooling-off right under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. By asking us to start within that period you agree that the right ends once work has begun (section 42(2)).

7. VAT

Trade Caravan is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and the price shown is the full price.

8. General

These terms sit alongside our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Billing & Refunds policy. If they conflict, these terms apply to the report. South African law applies.
