Logistics

Supply Chain & Logistics Glossary — South Africa

Definition

The practical execution side of the supply chain: physically moving, storing and handling goods, plus the paperwork and tracking that go with it. It covers transport (road, rail, sea, air), warehousing, inventory handling, customs clearance and final delivery. If supply chain management decides what should move where and when, logistics is the function that actually makes it happen.
